Course:

Microwave Measurements Laboratory

Instructors:

Walter Barry, John Corlett and Glen Lambertson, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

This is a laboratory course in microwave techniques applicable to accelerator components and particle beams. Students will operate standard instruments, such as network analyzers and time-domain reflectometers, and specialized hardware. These will be applied to the measurement of cavity modes, electrode response functions, beam impedance, etc. Accompanying lectures provide background in analysis, terminology, instrument function, and beam interactions. Students should have a knowledge of electromagnetism and electrical circuits.
