Enrollment, Payment and Hotel reservations due: December 4, 2017

Two-week full courses

Courses run in parallel so students may take one two-week full course OR two one-week half courses. The Accelerator Fundamentals course carries 3 undergraduate-level credits; each two-week course pair is eligible for 3 units of graduate-level credit.

January 15 - 26, 2018

Students successfully completing one half course each week will earn 3 units of graduate credit from Old Dominion University.

Participation is open to both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens. International participants not currently residing in the U.S. may apply to attend the program and may request financial sponsorship but they may not earn credit from Old Dominion University. Note: International students requesting a scholarship who are NOT from U.S. visa-waiver countries must already be in possession of a visa that is valid for the entire period of the USPAS session. A copy of your visa must be faxed (630-840-8500) to the USPAS before the September 14, 2017 deadline date.

Students enrolling in the "Microwave Measurements and Beam Instrumentation" class at Jefferson Lab have special visa and citizenship requirements, details are available in the course outline.

To be considered for financial support you must submit four documents: an application form; a cover letter explaining why the USPAS is important to your career and describing prior research experience, work with or as a user of particle accelerators; your CV; at least one letter of recommendation. USPAS scholarships are awarded without regard to race, gender or national origin. Consideration will be given to balancing class sizes.

The Registration Fee is $1,700.00 if your Application Form is received before September 14; after September 14 the fee is $1,800.00. The Registration Fee is $1,200.00 for participants attending only one week of the program. Please note: you do not have to pay the Registration Fee by September 14, you must send in an Application Form before September 14.

Hotel rooms will be available for $93.00 plus tax (currently 14%) plus a $1.00 cultural fee tax per night for a single room and a double room (shared by 2 people) will be $51.50 plus tax (currently 14%) plus a .50 cent cultural fee tax per person per night. Rooms may be reserved at our rate 3 days before and after the program dates, based on hotel availability.
