The USPAS collects data on race/ethnic identity and gender to track school diversity. Disclosure is voluntary and is kept confidential. Please select what best describes you.
Please choose from the following:*
One 4-week full course June 7 - July 2, 2021 (Each four-week course is eligible for 3 units of academic credit from Stony Brook University)
Two 2-week half courses (Students must successfully complete two half courses to be eligible for 3 units of academic credit from Stony Brook University. SBU credit will not be awarded for completing only one 2-week half course).
Half courses June 7 - 18, 2021
Half courses June 21 - July 2, 2021
One 2-week half course only (Students will not earn SBU credit for completing only one 2-week half course).
Class sizes are limited. Priority will be given to those who enroll for credit either via our academic host Stony Brook University, or through their home university if USPAS courses are directly co-listed (i.e. Indiana University, MIT, MSU) or are available via Special Topics courses. Auditors will be admitted on a space available basis only after those seeking credit / a grade. We anticipate videos of most courses will be posted and those wishing to informally audit can do so after the session. Those unable to enroll for credit (including international students not currently enrolled in a U.S. university) will be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
University and college students may request a scholarship to cover the Registration Fee. Students receiving a scholarship are expected to take their course for a grade / credit and must attend all 4 weeks of the USPAS. Scholarships will be awarded without regard to race, gender identity, sexual orientation or national origin. Consideration will be given to balancing class sizes. Scholarship requests are due April 12, 2021. This deadline will be strictly enforced.
All applicants must submit a cover letter explaining why the USPAS is important to your career and describing prior research experience, work with or as a user of particle accelerators; your CV/resume; one letter of recommendation. If you submitted these documents for the cancelled June 2020 or online winter 2021 sessions you do not need to resubmit them now. We retain supporting documents for one year.
