The USPAS collects data on race/ethnic identity and gender identity to track school diversity. Disclosure is voluntary and is kept confidential. Please select what best describes you.
Please choose from the following:*
One 2-week full course. (Students successfully completing a full course will earn 3 credits from Northern Illinois University).
Two successive one-week half courses. (Students successfully completing two half courses will earn 3 credits from Northern Illinois University.)
Half courses January 23 - 27, 2023
Half courses January 30 - February 3, 2023
A single one-week half course only (Students attending only one half course are not eligible to enroll for university credit. They can, however, ask to have their homework and exams graded and will be informed of their rating when the school is over.)
Class sizes are limited. Priority will be given to those who enroll for credit either via our academic host (Northern Illinois University) or through their home university if USPAS courses are directly co-listed (i.e. Indiana University, MIT, MSU) or are available via Special Topics courses. Auditors will be admitted on a space-available basis only after those seeking credit / a grade. Those unable to enroll for credit (including international students living outside the U.S.) will be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
International participants not currently in the U.S. may participate but they cannot earn Northern Illinois University credit. They may ask that their performance be graded and when the session is over the USPAS will provide a letter confirming participation and grade.
The USPAS has a mandatory vaccination or test mandate and will also follow state and local regulations relating to COVID-19 when carrying out our sessions. Regulations may change in response to needs at the time of the session. We require that all session participants respect regulations applicable to the session, which may or may not include wearing masks. Additionally, consistent with our USPAS Code of Conduct, we require that all participants respect choices that others may make in elective masking and other reasonable actions to reduce pandemic risk. All participants of the session are required to adhere to our policies. Anyone violating our policies will be required to leave the session.
The USPAS will stock rapid tests, masks and hand sanitizer and will provide to attendees upon request.
Participants are required to carry health insurance valid for the duration of the session. Attendees coming from outside the U.S. must purchase temporary health insurance valid while they are in the U.S. The USPAS will not pay any medical expenses.
In order to protect the health and safety of all attendees, instructors and staff, we are requiring all participants to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or to agree to regular testing. You are considered to be “fully vaccinated” after one of these conditions are met:
- have received 2 doses in a two-dose vaccine series and at least one booster.
- have received 1 dose of a single-dose vaccine and at least one booster.
Please confirm your COVID-19 vaccination status or agree to regular testing by checking one box:*
I am fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19. I declare that the information I have provided is accurate and true.
I am not fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, but I agree to be rapid-tested upon arrival at Registration and regularly test while at the session. I further agree to report any positive test immediately to the USPAS Office. If I refuse to rapid test, I agree to immediately leave the USPAS session.
