Accelerator Physics
S.Y. Lee, Indiana University and Michiko Minty, SLAC
In this course we will introduce the physics that govern the motion of particles in accelerators. We will study single particle dynamics in synchrotrons, storage rings and linacs; and multiple particle effects such as coherent instabilities and beam loading. Examples will be taken from current accelerator research and development. Prerequisites: courses in electromagnetism and classical mechanics.
