Courses run in parallel so students may take one two-week full course OR two one-week half courses. The Accelerator Fundamentals course carries 3 undergraduate-level credits. Each two-week full course is eligible for 3 units of graduate-level credit.

The Effect of Radiation on Electronics and Materials

Participation is open to both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens. International participants not currently residing in the U.S. may apply to attend the program and may request financial sponsorship but they may not earn credit from the University of New Mexico. Note: International students requesting a scholarship who are NOT from U.S. visa-waiver countries must already be in possession of a visa that is valid for the entire period of the USPAS session. A copy of your visa must be faxed (630-840-8500) to the USPAS before the March 14, 2019 deadline date. Financial support is limited and is usually restricted to matriculating graduate students or postdocs within 5 years of graduation.
This summer we will have an extra requirement for students who request financial support: a "Financial Aid Disclosure Form" to be completed by your advisor/supervisor. This new form is available as a pdf here /financial-aid-disclosure.pdf . Our standard documentation is also still required: an application form; a cover letter explaining why the USPAS is important to your career and describing prior research experience, work with or as a user of particle accelerators; your CV; one letter of recommendation. USPAS scholarships are awarded without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation or national origin. Consideration will be given to balancing class sizes.
The Registration Fee is $1,700.00 if your Application Form is received before March 14, 2019; after March 14 the fee is $1,800.00. The Registration Fee is $1,200.00 for participants attending only one week of the program. Please note: you do not have to pay the Registration Fee by March 14, 2019, you must send in an Application Form before March 14, 2019.
Single hotel rooms will be available for $94.00 plus tax per night and a double hotel room (shared by 2 people) will be $47.00 plus tax per person per night. Rooms may be reserved at our rate 3 days before and after the program dates, based on hotel availability.
